Saskia Latievarya (they/he) is a Queer/Trans Mad Indonesian American Youth artist and student studying Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in “Mad Trans Art.” They were raised in Indonesia, but call Berkeley, California his first “home” they’ve lived in. Since moving to California, they have experienced more than twelve involuntary hospitalizations (5150). They are interested in their own Mad experiences and ideas of liberation from carceral systems as embodied through art processes in their work. They also want to examine processes of experiencing as greater than art processes/ mediums/ pieces in isolation from other processes of experiencing.
