Yani Mohamad Fauzi is a Javanese-Malay graphic designer based in Santa Cruz, California. Prior to their submission for Art: GADO GADO, Yani had been on a several year hiatus from creating personal art. They found inspiration to return to personal expression through recent positive connections with the vibrant Indonesian community of Northern California. These relationships—created initially though reconnected with traditional Indonesian dance—reignited their creative passion. Yani’s current work explores themes of self-identity, heritage, and cultural connections.
